Time flies... ... ... ...

Life passes by real rapidly over the last three weeks.

My motivation.
Just stopped along the path, take a deep breath and check out the date, it's already October 2010. Only 1 month away from my Kyushu trip. This trip has been the 'talk' of the year between my dear friend Carol and me. The planning, coordinating work, collecting of payments is all finally coming to an end in less than 40 days' time. Kyushu - the motivation that has driven Carol and me, kept our passion alive. We, Carol and I, are so looking forward to the trip. Together, we want to make great memories. With those who are coming along with us, an unforgettable one too.

Fish ‘feeding’ frenzy.
After we put the first capsule of the pellets into the pond at Singapore Botanic Gardens (SBG), we decided that the fishes were just too hungry and that we needed to give them more. This marks the beginning of our family's fish ‘feeding’ frenzy episode. Still wondering if this is an ‘okay’ thing to do in this seemingly over-populated pond. I will find out more before this gets out of hand...

*scratch head* I thought all we need to do is to just shoot? What is considered good? Is it important to know what a good picture is? Do we really need golden rules??? Hmmm ... guess the rules probably help you to think out of the 'square' (the viewfinder). Kekeke.

Well, this is my newly taken up hobby to top up my love for scrapping. I wonder what I can do to marry scrapbooking with lomo-lomo. Took out my very first lomo-cam and tried taking some shots yesterday. However, one has to be patient in this lomo-lomo world. Firstly, you have to finish the entire roll of film in your lomo-cam. Pictures then take lomo-lomo time to be processed the lomo-lomo way, before they appear as 'lomograph' (photographs taken by lomo-cam???).

The lomo-lomo way is to send the film to the photo labs and get them processed into negatives, then you can decide if you would want the pictures to be developed into 3R or 4R hardcopies or etc. And finally, I guess the 'lomograph' will be ready for their marriage with the scrapbook.

Now, I'm only half-way into the roll. Hence, I will only be able to see them in probably another few weeks time. If all of them turned out overexposed / all black, would they be considered good pictures? Hahaha... I should think so right. The lomo experts say 'just shoot' ya?

Jacob Ballas Children's Garden
Found this really nice garden for my little girl who is already wobbling her way around our legs. She loves the suspension bridge in the garden so much such that we have to drag her away with her wailing at her highest note. She is especially happy when the entire bridge goes into oscillations. Hahaha. This garden is a really nice place for little children who are eagerly waiting to explore and examine things around them. Many activity centres are built in such a way that they are just at these kiddies’ eye level and reach. We have all decided that we would want to come back again. We simply fell in love with this place.

Woes of bulky layouts

Learnt some techniques from a class I took. Bulky layout page. Now having a problem with where I should place these. One goes to my shadow box.. and the other in a plastic bag . I'll see what I can do.

It's been a long time since I've been up here... ... Busy with work family and scrapbooking. Thinking how I can make numbers work in my layout. I think this is not too bad ya?

My first commercial project!!??

Look at my attempt to render a pub. Did a lot of research to make sure it has the right atmosphere. It's not easy but I put in all I have. =)

I love to render

That day, I was trying to clear away some of my old stuff that I had stacked away for a number of years. All my previous art work finally got uncovered.

I recalled those days when I used to hate rendering. I always thought I am no good in colouring be it colour pencil, rendering pen or even paint. But, two persons actually made me like it. When I was in secondary school, I met a very demading art teacher who made sure that all our painting has to come out presentable before it is accepted as a submission. And her favourite tasks were to paint fruits and various vegetables, pails and bottles and all kinds of static displays. It was tough, until one day when she demonstrated using my piece to show me how I can use various strokes and colours to make it more real life looking. Suddenly, I decided painting may be fun. Then came along my interior design coach who taught us rendering techniques using a combination of mediums. This allowed me to create different texture on my art work. And finally I see light or should I say, colours.

Of course, it can't be done within a day. It took me years to move from my art teacher's teaching to my ID coach's and through flipping many many ID and rendering books before I can understand more about rendering. Though I'm still not an expert, but a simple piece of work wouldn't harm me anymore.

If it wasn't for them, my work would have always been like this...

However, today...

I was glad I never gave up on colours.

Finally did 'it'

In the midst of taking care of my dear little girl, I finally found time to get this page done. Pretty tough to do I would say, especially when the paper already presents itself as being so crowded. I wanted to add more details and pictures yet would still like to leave some empty spaces to show off this very pretty patterned paper. This layout was on my table for a while when finally I decided to add a little slot at the left bottom corner for me to put in more pictures and write up. Felt really happy about the finished page, as I managed to put everything I wanted about my little baby gal's arrival.

'Wat' is this?

This is a little sketch of Angkor Wat by me. Really on a piece of rough paper and the only pen I have at that point in time. At a little corner in Angkor Wat. I hope you all can see 'wat' it is just from one look.
